Salt in the Blood
But hush, brined thing. The leaving
is now ours. Be somehow
less anchored (there are softenings
in the sea glass). I am no
longer parsing this spent tide, this brackish pearl
we once might have named homeland
before the winds changed, before the light
lost its luster.
